Pastor Warren was lost in the middle of a national forest. He seemed to drive in circles. Finally, stopping at a deserted farmhouse, he used his CB radio to call for help.
A woman answered and asked him to describe his surroundings. When he did, she said, “Oh, you are just over the hill from my farm.”
The woman told Warren to come to her home. After he arrived, she jumped into her pickup and said, “Follow me.”
The kind woman led Warren to the address he sought. She could have given him directions to his destination, but she went the extra mile and led him.
God sent many prophets to His Old Testament people to tell them how they must travel to meet Him. All too often, however, the people failed to obey God’s instructions and lost their way.
When this happened after their exodus from Egypt, they wandered in the wilderness for forty years. As a result, those twenty and older who followed Moses out of slavery never saw the Promised Land but died in the wilderness.
In God’s timing, He sent Jesus, who proclaimed to be the Way who would take people to the right destination. If we follow Jesus’ directions, we will never be lost or wander in the desert of sin.
Have you chosen the only road that leads to Jesus Christ and eternal life?
