I sense God’s presence in the precious stillness of the early morning. The beach offers cool sand to sink my toes into, and breathtaking views that capture my heart.
I am filled with anticipation as I look towards the horizon waiting for God’s morning show. The sky displays His artwork with hues of colors blended perfectly. I am often reminded how the heavens declare the glory of God. He is glorified in the morning sky. Thoughts and Scriptures flood my mind as I witness the glorious sunrise.
Each day is unique, and some bring added surprises. As I strolled along the ocean’s edge, something caught my attention in the sand behind me. Sand flew everywhere and it looked like it was coming out of a huge hole. People gathered, but they stood at a distance. Then I saw it. A massive sea turtle came out of her nesting place. She had gone there to lay her eggs. I stood spellbound as I watched this giant creature crawl back toward the ocean slowly on her fore arms. Staff bounced down the beach in their buggy and checked to see if she had a tag on her right front side, which she did. As they left, they waved and smiled at us, pleased at the distance we had respected.
My mind raced. I thought about the tortoise and the hare: “slow and steady wins the race.” I created a bumper sticker in my head which read, Walk or crawl … just get to Jesus. God promises to be our rock and salvation – our refuge. He is there. Faithful and true to His words.
When life grows difficult, remember He’s your rock and salvation. There is joy in submitting to Jesus, the Living Water, where no one will ever thirst again for anything except for more of Him.
