Unworthy but Available

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  Isaiah 40:31 KJV

unworthy but availableI can’t do that. How can I teach or talk in front of people? I am no expert.

Most of the things I do at church aren’t things I am comfortable doing. When I began leading children's groups in Wisconsin and Florida or directing the adult and children's choir, I felt inadequate. But each time I was called, I answered, “If this is what You want me to do, God, I will.”

Because of this, I have learned many things and overcome numerous fears and obstacles. There is a saying: “God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.” I have found that to be true.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. This verse is special to me. When God asks us to do something, it typically isn’t easy. It is also probably nothing we asked for or wanted. Our human strength often fails when we feel burnt out, run down, or under the effects of various issues. But God is always with us. He is our strength and holds us up in everything we do.

Those who rely on the Lord for their strength—especially during times of weariness, trials, and troubles—grow stronger in their faith, patience, and fortitude. This verse gives me strength and comfort during times of stress and through many trials.

So, when you feel beaten down or worn out by the world's challenges, remember this verse. Rely on God’s strength, feel His comfort, and be renewed.
