The internet is an integral part of our lives in the digital age. We can access news, social media, apps, and a wealth of information. But have we ever experienced that sinking feeling when our phones or laptops display No internet connection? Suddenly, our connection to the whole world seems severed.
Yet a more critical connection exists—one that transcends Wi-Fi signals and data plans. It's our connection with God.
Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. These verses remind us of God's unchanging nature. Unlike our fluctuating circumstances, God remains steadfast. He hung the stars, led the Israelites through the Red Sea, and fed the five thousand. His faithfulness endures.
We face a choice when we feel spiritually drained or distant from God. We can wrap ourselves in excuses and self-pity or draw strength from an unchanging God. Just as our feelings and circumstances haven't altered Him, He is perfectly capable of sustaining us. Despite how we feel, we need to delight in His precepts, principles, and character. Choosing to delight in God might not be easy, but only He can revive and save our souls from spiritual lethargy.
Since the fall of Adam and Eve, a no-connection signal of separation from God has existed. God provided a temporary way to connect, but it was often unreliable—although suitable for the moment—and the upkeep was hard to maintain.
The good news is that we now have a restored connection signal. Through Jesus' work on the cross, He fully restores us to God. We no longer need to maintain the old network because Jesus is faithfully maintaining it for us.
Make sure you are connecting with Jesus. He is the vine, and we are the branches. If we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit. However, we can't do anything apart from Him.
