God Makes No Mistakes

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.  Psalm 139:14 NKJV

He spent many long, sleepless nights designing and building the perfect piece of furniture so she could have one just like her friend. Only this one would be slightly different. Special, like his precious child. He excitedly awaited her reaction.

At first, his daughter was thrilled, anxious to tell her friend about her new treasure. She snapped a photo. But before sending it, she leaned in to inspect the gift a bit more closely. That’s when she discovered the slight variation—her father’s intricate design that made this piece unique. Instead of being grateful, she began to pick the gift apart. She broke her father’s heart.

How many times have we broken God’s heart by looking at someone else and thinking, I want to be just like them? Then we start pointing out all our flaws and accusing God of making a mistake. But I should be … But I should have … Why did you …

One writer says, “Before God assigns you, He designs you. He gives you the right personality to fulfill His plan for your life.” (The Word for You Today)

The psalmist David had the right idea when he said to the Lord, “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”

God had a plan when He fashioned you in your mother’s womb. You are His special creation. Be thankful and celebrate your uniqueness. No one else is exactly like you, and that’s the way God intended it to be.

Just remember … God makes no mistakes.
