I ran cameras in high school for sporting events like hockey, football, and basketball. I went on to Vo-tech and pursued my dreams by working in television. When I got my first job, someone shared this verse: Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success.
I did an internship and worked in production for a cable company. I worked part-time a few days a week for a community college, doing odd television-related jobs. Later, the cable company I interned for was bought out. Many people quit, but I was hired part-time. I also got another part-time employment to supplement my income.
But all wasn’t well. I worked at a fast-food restaurant but was told I was not quick enough, so I lost that job. I interviewed for a job selling encyclopedias, but the interviewer said I wasn’t qualified because I had not attended college. I walked out of that interview, but the person who interviewed me apologized as I did. I also worked for a grocery store but lost that job as well. Yet on the same day, I was offered a full-time job at a cable company.
Being a young Christian in my early twenties taught me to trust the Lord. I didn’t understand how God would work throughout my life. But the Lord showed me that I could rely on Him. I had to learn how to trust the Lord.
Trust God to meet your needs, regardless of what they are.
