When an Eagle Soars

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:31 NIV

After that weekend, for a religion lesson for my students, we all turned to Isaiah to read this verse: But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Here, our wise prophet guides us to keep hoping. God sent us His Son, Jesus, the One, to be a sign of hope for all the champions we can be.

Jesus can be at hand—floating across in our prayers and sending us wise counsel—to renew our faith in His divine presence. At the end of each day, long after sunrise, we can all say an evening prayer for maintaining inner peace in our souls. All believers may grow tired of routines, but then we can start each sunrise with a smile, greet the day, and express our thanks to Jesus, who is never far away.

Any awakening dawn is priceless. Older people can treasure any wrinkle and focus on the present while caring for what they can. God still sends us hope on every sunbeam, friend, prayer, and worshipful believer, trying to live the Word.

Keep soaring. Your nature can be like God’s sunbeams with Jesus above.
