Seek and You Will Find

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord.  Jeremiah 29:13-14a NKJV

In the same way we make so many things the Bible says more difficult than they are meant to be, seeking the Lord is no exception. The truth is simple. There are no guidelines. No hard and fast rules. No formula to follow to make sure we’re all doing it the same way and doing it right.

The Word for You Today says, “Some people seek Him quietly with soft tears falling gently down a weary face. Others seek Him while walking the sandy beaches of a cove, gazing into the swelling currents of an evening tide. Some raise their hands and praise Him with loving expressions of adoration.”

It’s a matter of the heart—of putting God first. Making Him a priority over everything else in our lives.

The intensity with which we seek something depends on the value we place on it. When we focus on God—removing all distractions and inviting Him into our every moment—He responds. His promise in Jeremiah is, “I will be found by you.” The Message translation puts it plainly: “When you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”

Seek the Lord with all your heart. You will never be disappointed.
