I once sat by someone’s bedside as they breathed their last. It was tough to observe the pain and suffering of my loved one. Having to wait as the pauses between inhalations lengthened without being able to ease his gasps. As the nurse stood with me at the end, I held his hand, leaned over him, and said, “It’s okay. Jesus is waiting for you.”
The blue eyes that had been closed for many hours opened. I watched as the light went out here, but I knew it blazed brightly as he met Jesus, the Light of the world, on the other side. I took heart as victory was attained, and peace surrounded us.
Jesus made it clear we would face challenges, but He also assured us of victory. He told us the truth so we could have peace in Him.
We can all experience victory, knowing Jesus is waiting for us. Make sure you believe in Him. When you do, you can take heart and be encouraged because Jesus has overcome what we experience in this world.
