The Shift

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

It blows my mind to think how fast time has flown. I remember seeing the posts of friends who had teenagers when I had toddlers and saying, “Wow, I can’t believe they are that old.”

Now, my girls have surpassed that teenage stage and become all God has created them to be. Where does that leave me as a mom? Well, I know what the Enemy wants to tell me to think. This constant shifting between seasons will determine how I see things. I can either try to figure out their future or trust God to unfold His plans. My job as a mom has now shifted to encouraging, watching, and praying for their future.

This writing hasn’t taken the direction I thought, yet I keep typing. And the song that plays is”Amen,” and the lyrics say to let God’s kingdom come and His will be done.

I heard one prayer warrior use the word “shift.” The ability to shift where the Lord wants us. To keep believing and trusting, whatever season we are in, as God moves us in the way He wants. The word shift is to move from one place to another. A divine shift is a supernatural move—a slight change in position or direction.

The supernatural power of the Holy Spirit moves us where He calls. Don’t ask to stay in the same place. Don’t fight against God’s seasonfor you.
