Bucket Lists

He will save his people from their sins.  Matthew 1:21 NIV

I found them inspiring and diverse. Doing so caused my thoughts to wonder if this silver Christian really understands what Jesus’ bucket list was or is.

Before our Lord was born, God told His earthly father, Joseph, that the baby would save His people from their sins. This verse contains a personal indicator of an agenda for all of us. We appreciate Jesus’ greatest sacrifice of all time. A loyal Christian will memorize some part of the Scripture and let it dance in their hearts because our faith will one day set us all free.

After reading this verse, I wondered what any individual worshipper can do for Jesus when planning the week. That question is relevant to believers as we aspire to draw more followers to our Lord.

Due to my recurring mobility issues, I plan to craft woolens for charity donations, read a text in the Bible each day, and manage daily chores here in my pleasant neighborhood—all with a positive attitude. It is not rocket science, but we can wake up with a smiling attitude.

If I do not reach my worship community because of technology, I can tune in to an online worship service, listen respectfully to the Word, and receive a blessing from the altar by joining in the prayers. In these ways, Jesus’ love will change me for the better.

At the end of all our days, we can meet Jesus’ bucket list and give Him the rightful praise. In the meantime, we can check in daily to see how we can show Jesus how much we love Him.
