The Lord Directs to Rest

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”  Exodus 33:14 NIV

And we do want to carry it all when the Lord tells us to rest and allow Him to do it. When God says He will personally go with us, He means it. He meant it for Moses, and that same promise is for us today in whatever we attempt to take on by ourselves.

Beth Guckenberger said, “When we invite God into our story, we can’t always predict the outcome—there isn’t a formula or an easy answer. But when we step forward to say yes, we see Him as a Reconciler, Rebuilder, Redeemer, Restorer, and Repairer of all things.”

When I invite God into my situation, I’m not saying I know how it will all play out. Instead, I trust Him with what is scary and believe He will guide me every step of the way. Whatever God asks us to do will change us in the process. We allow Him to carry all those unknowns and see His faithfulness through them all. We must listen when God calls us to rest so that we can experience His rest.

How does rest look to you? Think of ways that God can give you rest.
