I remember being addicted to Facebook. I had to see what this or that person was doing. Then I shifted and loaded my page with positive and inspirational videos or posts. I gave this more time than God. I also realized I gave my phone more of my time. So, I made a goal to fast from my phone.
What was my purpose? Many are addicted to devices and social media. We have made them our gods. We can’t sit and converse without scrolling on our phones, texting someone, or just having our devices in our hands. We sit in a doctor’s office or other public places and don’t talk to each other. We have little social interaction.
But we can’t minister to broken hearts, encourage, or put smiles on people’s faces unless we are face-to-face with others. We should step back from technology, remove our masks, and open our hearts to hear God. When we do, we just might see what we’ve been missing all this time.
God wants our full attention. Think of ways you can give Him more of yours.
