The Power of Belonging

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains.  Psalm 68:6 KJV

Maria listened, quietly reflecting on the estrangement she had endured, the solitude she had carried. But as their conversation deepened, they recognized a truth: God places us in families, even when we feel alone.

Belonging is not just about blood relations. It is about connection, love, and the people God places in our lives to remind us we are never alone. Sandy had a full home, yet Maria reminded her that family is more than presence. It is intentional love. Maria lived in isolation, yet Sandy reminded her we do not always find family. We build it.

Jesus welcomed strangers as His own. He formed bonds with the rejected, showing them that family is created through love and faith, not circumstance.

Whether surrounded by relatives or walking in solitude, God always creates belonging. Think of someone in your life who may need an invitation to belong. Then, reach out and remind them they are not forgotten. In Christ, they have a family.
