Kingdom Mindset

No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.  Isaiah 54:17 NIV

But what does it mean that no weapon turned against me will succeed? The better question I must ask myself is, how do I respond when it feels like every weapon is formed against me? I needed a kingdom mindset.

In true fashion, someone sent another verse to me as a response to another writing: “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it’” (Isaiah 30:21 NIV). With it, a note said, “The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom to navigate this world.” Can we hear the urgency in this verse? This is the way we should go. Then we will destroy all our precious idols. Good riddance! But is it that simple to follow Jesus and that be true?

Having a kingdom mindset means reminding myself that I can only seek wisdom and understanding from the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). He created me to feel but also to know Him so intimately that I can stand in those times when I feel everything but continue to praise Him. I can praise Him because He is the God who has done impossible things. The only one worthy of all praise.

I can take all those feelings Satan and others throw at me and remember the above verses. No weapon will succeed. The vindication will come from the Lord. But that means I must have that relationship with the Lord and know Him so I can detect that voice.

I get to echo God’s praises. That, too, requires a certain mindset, a kingdom mindset. One that doesn’t look within myself and in front of me instead of looking up at my King. That King is the One who rules my heart and brings me comfort when I allow Him to rule and reign.

Ask God to give you a kingdom mindset.
